1986	I went to Mexico quite by accident as there were no flights Warsaw New York in April 1986 and *I was informed I could fly to CA via Mexico with Russian Airline Aeroflot. I had two friends there MERCEDES LARA that I had met at Birmingham University the year before and Pat Ground de Hernandes who I had met at Silesian University in 1974. They were both so hospitable that I could not leave Mexico and I spent 4 weeks there travelling and visiting people non stop I was treated like John Paul II who had been there before I went. I was taken to such magic places like San Miguel de Allente, Guarnavaca, The Piramids known from my favourite film about Frieda Cahlo . I taught English at The University of Mexico where Edward Stachura (my beloved poet when I was a student) had spent almost two years. In The archeological Museum I bought THE CALENDARIO AZTECA where the end of the world is supposed to happen in 1012.
